Our scholarship program is open to all survivors seeking assistance with post-secondary educational expenses. We review applications from those accepted to accredited educational institutions, including technical training schools, community colleges and universities. There is no age restriction as burn injuries can happen at any stage of life. Applicants who receive awards are welcome to re-apply for the following year. Click here for the application form.
Our scholarships are awarded with consideration given to academic achievement, degree of burn injury, community service and engagement and financial need. Our view of community engagement reflects our understanding that while many survivors are physically able and have the family support necessary to volunteer in their communities, others are still restricted by their injuries or family obligations. We consider the constraints put upon those still dealing with physical recovery and/or those having to maintain paid jobs, as some survivors must at the expense of volunteer work, no less of a type of community engagement.
Please review the application form carefully and call us with any questions.
The vast majority of funds raised by Flicker of Hope Foundation, including all proceeds from the sale of On a Ring and a Prayer, are directed to our scholarship fund. Since 2003 we have awarded over $180,000 to more than 60 students. To donate, please click here.
