Counseling

A burn injury is said to be the most painful experience the human body can endure and survive. Dave Borowski was burned so seriously at the age of six weeks (second-, third- and fourth-degree over 70 percent of his tiny body) that his doctors advised his parents to go home and make arrangements as his prognosis was death. That he survived was thought to be a miracle.

Still, there was pain enough to go around. Not just for Dave as he underwent corrective surgeries throughout this life and college, but his family as well. There were no official burn support groups they could turn to back when Dave was injured, but for decades his parents and seven siblings served this purpose for him. As a result of this first-hand experience of what is helpful to survivors and their families, Dave welcomes emails / phone calls from those who could use some uplifting guidance or information.  He is also available, on a limited basis, to attend burn camps in the United States to share his experience with others as they walk the path he knows so well.
